Week 13 brings us a match on Jan 11th, where Al Ittihad will host Zamalek at Alexandria Stadium in a Premier League match. Weather on match day is looking like a cloudy and cool day, with daytime temperatures of only 17 degrees, which is great football weather. In their last match, Al Ittihad recorded a 1-2 loss against Al Masry. Ilies Jelassi scored the first goal for Al Masry in the 44th minute on a penalty kick, then Abdallah Mousa Musallam Naseeb tied it up for Al Ittihad in the 59th minute on a penalty kick. Al Ittihad is looking for direction having earned 12 points in their last 10 matches, while in their last match, 3rd placed Zamalek, recorded a 1-1 draw against El Daklyeh. Samir Fekri Mohamed Ahmed struck first for El Daklyeh in the 25th minute on a feed from Ahmed Sayed Abdel Naby, then in the 6th minute of the second half’s stoppage time, Sayed sent in a beautiful pass which was converted by Mohamed Abdel Ghani squeezing out at least the one point for Zamalek. With 19 points in their last 10 matches Zamalek should be reasonably happy with their performance.
This will be the first match for these two teams against eachother this season. Last season Zamalek won the head to head battle with 1 win and 1 draw.
Zamalek’s top weapon lately has been Sayed, who has three goals in the last 5 matches. Mabululo has been the most prolific scorer on Al Ittihad in his last 5 matches with 2 goals.
