
Week 15 brings us a match on Jul 24th where KuPS plays host to HIFK in a clash of these two extremely mismatched Veikkausliiga teams. KuPS is fresh off their 4-0 shutout win against Lahti. Saku Savolainen struck first for KuPS in the 33rd minute, then Anton Popovits added another in the 73rd minute At the end of 90 a dissapointed Lahti couldn’t manage to score, and KuPS took the shutout win. KuPS should be reasonably happy with their recent performance, earning 21 points in their last 10 matches, while hIFK is fresh off their 1-1 draw against Mariehamn. Sergei Eremenko scored the first goal for HIFK in the 6th minute, but John Owoeri got the equalizer for Mariehamn in the 31st minute earning Mariehamn a comeback draw. HIFK looks to improve on their recent performance, having lost 6 of their last 10.
HIFK and KuPS last played eachother at the Bolt Arena on the 23rd of May. KuPS won by a score of 1 to 0. Clinton Antwi scored the first goal for KuPS in the 26th minute, and with that single goal the scoring was complete. Neither team could manage anything else In the end, HIFK couldn’t muster any offence and KuPS ran away with the shutout win.
