Week 14 brings us a match on Nov 9th where Lecce plays host to Atalanta in a meeting of these two extremely mismatched Serie A teams. The game day is forecasted to be a cloudy and cool day, with daytime temperatures of only 17 degrees, which is great football weather. 16th placed Lecce is fresh off their 1-1 draw against Udinese. Lorenzo Colombo scored the first goal for Lecce in the 33rd minute, then in the 68th minute, Isaac Success sent in a beautiful pass which was converted by Beto squeezing out at least the one point for Udinese. Lecce looks to improve on their recent performance, having lost 4 of their last 10, while atalanta is fresh off their 1-2 loss against Napoli. Ademola Lookman scored the first goal for Atalanta in the 19th minute from the penalty spot, then Victor Osimhen tied it up for Napoli in the 23rd minute on a feed from Piotr Zieliński But fortunately they were able to complete the comaback victory in the 35th minute on a goal by Eljif Elmas. With 20 points in their last 10 matches Atalanta should be reasonably happy with their performance.
These two teams have not yet played each other this season.
Atalanta is fortunate enough to have Ademola Lookman in top form. In the last 5 matches the attacker has scored 4 goals. Gabriel Strefezza and Assan Ceesay are the top scorers for Lecce in the last 5 matches, but unfortunately they only have one goal. It’s hard to imagine having success with those stats.
